CALIFORNIA — Impressive victories from Marlon "Chito" Vera and Eryk Anders at UFC Tampa are among several highlights of another successful weekend for the Team Iridium family.
Vera brought the heat and a full bag of tricks, as always, culminating in a third-round TKO victory over Andre Ewell on Saturday. The proud Ecuadorian bantamweight contender has now won five straight UFC fights, all by stoppage.
Anders, meanwhile, put on another gritty performance in the Octagon to win his second straight bout with a decision nod over Gerald Meerschaert in middleweight action.
On Friday, UFC vet Joby Sanchez returned to his winning ways with a dismantling decision victory over the outgunned Jose Allday in the main event of Combate Americas 46 in Tucson.
On Saturday, Jonas Flok notched a unanimous decision victory over fellow surging prospect Carl Deaton for Big John's in Michigan. Flok now boasts a record of 13-4; don't blink when he's back in action for Pure FC on Nov. 2 in Milwaukee.
