CALIFORNIA — Christian "The Beast" Aguilera is staying ready.
With a baby due in the summer, the Team Iridium fighter has been sharpening his skills and keeping in shape in hopes that a short-notice opportunity comes up before he becomes a first-time father.
"I miss fighting a lot, man. I really need to hit someone soon," the dynamic Team Iridium welterweight prospect says with a laugh.
Christian will be entering the cage for his 20th time as a professional in his next outing. Ten of his victories have been knockouts.
"I’m excited to be violent again," he adds, smiling. "I love the grind leading up to the fight and performing in front of people. I’m a show pony; I feel great when people are watching me fight."
Christian hopes to showcase his skills to international audiences soon.
"I want to fight two or three more times this year for sure, and I am going to get picked up this year by UFC — I can feel it," he says. "So either just keep beating people up until I’m undeniable or make a statement on Contenders Series. Either way."
