Team Iridium's Benson Henderson wins 4th straight in Bellator 227 headliner

CALIFORNIA -- Another chapter was added to the brilliant story of Benson "Smooth" Henderson's mixed martial arts career this weekend when he won his fourth straight in the main event Bellator 227 in Ireland.

The Team Iridium lightweight took out Myles Jury, a fellow UFC vet, with an impressive unanimous decision victory -- good for Henderson's fifth win under the Bellator MMA banner.

In a previous life, closer to his pro debut in 2006, Benson helped bring the WEC to prominence as the promotion's lightweight champion. After the WEC was absorbed by the UFC, Benson scored three straight Octagon victories before winning the organization's 155-pound championship -- a belt he defended three times.

Now 35 and feeling as dangerous as ever, Henderson is knocking on the door of a shot at Bellator's lightweight championship.
