Team Iridium athletes enjoy banner weekend

CALIFORNIA — It was a banner weekend for Team Iridium athletes.

Four UFC victories, three Performance-of-the-Night bonuses in the Octagon and four new belts for our collection were some of the highlights.

Mario Bautista, Journey Newson, Khaos Williams and Youssef Zalal all had their hand raised in the Octagon at UFC 247 in Houston. James Krause and Jonathan Martinez, sadly, were robbed of victories by incompetent judges (both decisions are being appealed this week).

Bautista, Williams and Krause all earned $50,000 bonuses for their efforts.

Top Canadian prospects Achilles Estremadura and Jared Revels defended their Battlefield Fight League titles in Canada, while Jamey-Lyn Horth Wessels earned her first professional title at the same event.

Cody Brundage, meanwhile, improved to 5-0 with a first-round submission victory, becoming the Lights Out Championship champ-champ in the process.

Across the pond, top European prospect Cameron Else notched his sixth straight first-round finish.
