Jason House eager to see Brandon Moreno make a statement at UFC 270
LAS VEGAS — Saturday night can't come soon enough for Jason House.
In the UFC 270 Co-Main Event, Team Iridium sensation Brandon “The Assassin Baby” Moreno will take to the Octagon in Anaheim to defend his UFC World Flyweight Championship for the first time against Deiveson Figueiredo.
It’s the third time that Brandon and Figueiredo have clashed with UFC gold on the line. Their first meeting at UFC 256 ended in a majority draw in December, 2020. Exactly six months later at UFC 263, of course, Brandon became the first Mexican-born champion in UFC history with a third-round, rear naked choke victory.
Success goes to some people’s heads, and they lose their edge. Jason – Founder and CEO of Iridium Sports Agency – can’t help but laugh at that notion when it comes to “The Assassin Baby,” who’s quickly become one of the UFC’s biggest stars.
“I’ve definitely noticed a change in Brandon,” Jason says.
“He’s become even more motivated, determined and focused. That’s never been an issue for Brandon, obviously, but he realizes that the job isn’t finished.
“It was never Brandon’s goal to be a one-time champion.”
Now 13 months since the first meeting at UFC 256, Jason is excited to see his superstar client transition from the trilogy to the next phase of his blossoming career.
"I’m looking forward to putting a stamp on this stage of Brandon’s career, and doing it in exciting fashion,” Jason says. “We’re excited to really put this to bed.”
As for his fight night prediction?
That’s an easy one.
“I predict that Bruce Buffer will be saying, ‘and still!’ ”
