LAS VEGAS — In Spain, football is life.
Daniel Barez, a native of Valencia, Spain, grew up playing football. But for whatever reason it didn’t stick.
“I liked martial arts and started training kickboxing at 13 or 14 years old.”
He’s never looked back since.
“From there on out it was a process where, little by little, I started competing in tournaments and that’s how I arrived here now after making the transition to MMA.”
Mixed martial arts is a growing sport in Daniel’s region of Europe. This is a key component to staying motivated for the fast-rising Iridium Sports Agency client.
“I’m so honored to represent Valencia and Spain.”
True to form, Daniel made his walk to the ring in his most recent fight for Naciones MMA with Spain’s flag draped over his shoulders. Daniel left the cage with another first-round finish on his resume, improving his record to 13-5.
“I love my people and I love my country.”
After his win at Naciones, Daniel admits where he’s aimed his focus now.
“I’m a high-level fighter, and after this last win I feel like it more than ever. I’m on a path to the UFC. I plan on fighting every month this year if I can.”
He stresses how important it is to him to maintain a grueling pace to keep his skills sharp.
“I’m ready to stay busy, I’m ready to fight. I want everyone to know I’m one of the world’s best.”
Spoken like a Spanish superstar, training for an endurance sport, aimed straight at the goal and ready to strike at any moment.
