Team Iridium's Jason Witt has 1 goal left for 2020; make his highly anticipated UFC debut

CALIFORNIA — Team Iridium hammer Jason "The Vanilla Gorilla" Witt has established himself as one of the best unsigned welterweights in the world. With a record of 17-5, and nine wins in his last 10 outings, Jason entered 2020 with big goals, inside and outside the Octagon.

How have you been holding up through all this?

Quarantine started off rough for me. Being a personal trainer, my job was deemed non-essential, so I was without work for two months. However, I found ways to keep busy and better my life with the available time I had. I spent a lot of time training the things I could; bag work, watching film and doing a lot more running and lifting. My wife and I had been looking for a house for over a year and found one we loved. This gave me the time to get the old house prepared to sell and get packed. We also bought a gym (FIT House KC) and with quarantine I was able to do a lot of construction and redesign the entire gym. I’d say I’ve held up well and accomplished a lot during quarantine.

That being said, Is there anything you're looking forward to more than stepping back in the cage?

Honestly there is not anything I’m looking forward too more than stepping back in the cage. I’ve been working harder since the shut down started and improving a lot of my all around game. I’ve made large leaps in the last few months and I’m excited to see those results in action.

How's it going to feel when you're back in there?

I truly believe that the next time I step in the cage it will be in the UFC's Octagon. I’ve worked years for the opportunity to show what I’m capable of on the big stage. I will be extremely emotional. A mixture of excitement, violent intentions, nerves and accomplishment. It’ll feel like it will be a dream come true, a sense of freedom.

What would you like to accomplish in 2020?

I would like to accomplish the three goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Buy a new house, buy a gym, and fight in the UFC. Two down and I feel one will be accomplished very soon. I want to run a successful personal training gym and have two to three victories in the UFC in 2020.
